Wins National Jeopardy Championship

Gabby took an online test (along with over 200,000 students).  She then went to Dallas where she competed against the 400 finalists.  A month later, they flew the whole family to L.A. and put us up in a beautiful Hilton.  On show day, Gabby was picked up in the most awesome limo.  Once Gabby participated on Jeopardy, we had to be silent for four months until the show aired. She was the 2009 Pre-teen champion and won $15,201! It was a tremendous experience.

Hope all is well with you, yours, and St. Jerome ECC, which formed the foundation for both of our girls to value education, to work hard, and to always give 110%.  Chris and I thank all of you for our girls' wonderful start into the educational world.

Attends National Young Leader's Conference

I have had the opportunity to attend the National Young Leader's Conference in Washington, DC. I learned about past leaders of the United States and how to follow in their footsteps. I was able to visit many informative museums, and studied six traits of leadership. In addition to everything I learned, I was chosen to practice my public speaking skills by giving a speech in front of over one hundred middle school students. I am extremely grateful that I have had the privilege to attend the NYLC, and I have learned a great deal of valuable information. This has been the most amazing experience for me.

Graduates with honors from IB program

Kristen Porter (St. Jerome ECC Class of 1997) recently graduated with honors from the IB program at Palm Harbor University High School. She will be attending Florida State University where she was invited to attend the honors college in the pre-law program. She plans to double major in psychology and political science.
